Lipedema Treatment

Lipedema is a progressive condition characterized by the symmetrical and disproportionate accumulation of fat tissue, typically in the legs, hips, and occasionally the arms. This fat tissue, which is resistant to diet and exercise, can cause physical pain, swelling (edema), a tendency to bruise, and restricted mobility in patients.

Dr. Orhan Fahri Demir comprehensively analyzes the patient's current condition and symptoms in the treatment of lipedema. The primary goals of the treatment approach are to reduce the patient's pain, manage swelling complaints, and restore a proportionate body silhouette. In advanced stages of lipedema, the surgical removal of this pathological fat tissue through specialized techniques (lipedema liposuction) offers the most effective results in enhancing the patient's quality of life.

As every patient's needs are unique, a personalized treatment plan—incorporating either conservative therapies or surgical interventions—is developed following a detailed examination with Dr. Demir.
